Weigh the following together as one,
-
Ball holder cap
-
Nut (to keep in place the ball specimen in the ball holder cap)
-
M12 Bolt (to hold the ball specimen in fixed position)
-
Tare this weight value
-
-
Wear gloves
-
Unscrew the M12 bolt from the ball holder cap
-
Place ball specimen in ball holder cap as shown
-
Place a nut above the ball specimen
-
-
Tighten this arrangement with a size M12 bolt
-
Take note not to be in contact with exposed surface of ball specimen at all times
-
With the addition of the ball specimen, weigh this arrangement and take down weight of ball specimen before experiment
-

Using LAS EZ,
-
Check for surface defects
-
If surface hasn't been worn, take photo of pre-cleaned surface and save it as 'Ball, before expt, before clean'
-

-
Clean the exposed surface of the ball specimen with the wet swab
-
Next, tear open a new Collection swab and dry the exposed surface of the ball specimen with a new dry Collection swab
-
-
-
Unscrew the M12 bolt slowly, keeping the exposed surface in the same position as before
-
Vertically screw the ball holder cap back to the ball holder
-
Be conscious of exposing the exact same ball surface
